Karen Rutherford

Karen Rutherford has a diverse work experience in various industries. Karen started their career at East Bay Regional Park District as a Park Operations Summer Intern in 2016. In the following year, they worked as a Customer Service Gameday Intern at the University of California, Berkeley, where they handled ticket operations and guest services for football and basketball games.

In 2017, Karen took on multiple roles. Karen served as a Marketing, Events, and PR Intern at NBC Sports Bay Area & California during the spring, and later joined USA Football as part of their Operations Team for a short period. Karen also worked at the San Jose Earthquakes Soccer as a Front Desk Assistant and Sales Assistant, providing administrative support and managing client information.

Karen continued to gain experience in the sports industry in 2018. Karen interned as a Sports Marketing Intern at the University of Houston, where they contributed to various marketing initiatives. Karen then joined College Track for a Corporate Residency program, where they shadowed companies such as Salesforce and Goldman & Sachs, and participated in a range of activities and workshops to develop their corporate skills.

In the same year, Karen returned to NBC Sports Bay Area & California as a Marketing, Events, and PR Intern, where they took on a lead role and trained new interns, organized events, and conducted social media analytics. Karen also worked at Rice University as a Ticket Operations and Business Strategy intern, followed by a role as a Customer Service Representative in their athletics department.

Most recently, Karen joined US Sports Camps in 2020. Karen started as an Assistant Camp Success Manager, responsible for soccer and Nike KIDS camps, and later became an Operations Manager. Overall, Karen's work experience showcases their versatility, strong organizational skills, and ability to adapt to different roles in the sports and corporate sectors.

Karen Rutherford has a bachelor's degree in Sport Administration/Management from the University of Houston, which they obtained in the years 2017-2020. Karen also completed a minor in Business Foundations at the University of Houston, C.T. Bauer College of Business from 2017-2019. In 2019, they earned a certificate in Entrepreneurship/Entrepreneurial Studies from the same institution. Prior to attending the University of Houston, Karen Rutherford earned a bachelor's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from San Francisco State University, which they completed from 2015-2017.

In addition to their formal education, Karen Rutherford has obtained additional certifications. In July 2020, they completed the "Fundamentals of Quantitative Modeling" certification from Wharton Online. In May 2020, they obtained the "Advanced Google Analytics" certification from Google.
