Kristen Delguzzi

Opinion Editor at USA Today

Kristen Delguzzi is the current Opinion Editor at USA Today. Prior to their current position, Kristen was the Founding Director of the Digital Operations Team at USA TODAY NETWORK. In this role, Kristen built a team of producers who managed digital and social operations for 15 newsrooms in the West. Kristen also developed standards, workflows, goals and expectations, and communicated regularly with site and corporate leadership. As a result of Kristen's efforts, metrics increased in most every category. The group started as a pilot with nine sites and five producers and quickly grew as site performance improved. Within a year, the concept was scaled across the company, with more than 80 properties, several dozen producers and managers for locations in the east and west.

Prior to their role at USA TODAY NETWORK, Kristen was the Senior Director of Digital and Audience Growth at The Arizona Republic | azcentral.com | La Voz. In this role, Kristen reported to the vice president and editor, and was a member of the newsroom’s executive leadership team responsible for budget, personnel and overall strategy. Kristen also guided vision, planning and operations for social, digital and print. Furthermore, Kristen was responsible for growing audience, increasing revenue opportunities and coordinating with corporate offices on key initiatives and ethics issues. Under Kristen's leadership, companywide digital growth goals were set for 2016 and 2017, which were then surpassed by the teams they led despite significant challenges.
