Kathy McDaris has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries. Kathy began their career in 1982 as a Police Investigator/Officer at the Tallahassee Police Department, where they worked for almost 30 years until 2011. In 2001, they took on the role of Race Director at Red Hills Triathlon and continued in this position indefinitely. Kathy joined USA Triathlon in 2011 as a Certified Race Director and later became a Level 1 Coach in 2014. Additionally, they worked at Capital City Runners as a Fit Specialist & Retail Sales Associate from 2013 to 2018. Kathy also served as a Swimming Instructor at Tallahassee Swim School from 2015 to 2017.
Kathy McDaris completed their Bachelor's degree in Political Science and Government from Florida State University, from 1976 to 1978. Kathy later pursued a field of study in Exercise Physiology, from 2000 to 2008, at the same university. Kathy has also obtained several additional certifications over the years, including U.S. Masters Swimming Coach Level 1 & 2 in January 2016, USAT Level 1 Race Director from USA Triathlon in April 2011, Water Safety Instructor from the American Red Cross Central Florida Region in March 2015, and USAT Level 1 Triathlon Coach from USA Triathlon in December 2013.
