Mimi Gordon has a diverse work experience background. Mimi worked as a Sustainability Intern at the University of Colorado Denver Business School starting in September 2021. Prior to that, they served as the Executive Director of Global Health Connections from December 2020. Mimi also worked as a Triathlon and Off-Road Adventure Coach at Next Level Endurance since September 2017. Mimi is a Mountain Bike Instructor for Ninja Mountain Bike Performance, GRIT Clinics, and Ladies AllRide, where they focus on educating and skill-building to encourage more people to participate in mountain biking. Mimi was the Director of Alumni Admissions Council for Southwest Michigan at Northwestern University from September 2018 and coordinated interviews for prospective students. Mimi Gordon's education history includes a Bachelor's degree in Economics and Hispanic Studies from Northwestern University, which they obtained from 1990 to 1994. Mimi later pursued a Master's degree in Public Policy Analysis from The University of Texas at Austin, completing it from 1996 to 1997. In 2000 to 2001, they obtained another Master's degree in Public Policy Analysis from the University of Illinois Chicago. Mimi is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration (MBA) with a focus on Managing for Sustainability at the University of Colorado Denver, which they began in 2020 and expects to complete in 2023.

In addition to their academic achievements, Mimi has also obtained several certifications. Mimi completed the Specialty Coffee Sustainability Program Online Foundation and Intermediate courses offered by the Specialty Coffee Association in March 2021. In November 2019, they obtained the certifications of Level 1 Mountain Bike Guide from the Bike Instructor Certification Program (Formerly IMBA ICP), XTERRA Certified Coach from XTERRA Global, and Total Immersion Level 1 Coach from Total Immersion Swimming Limited. Furthermore, Mimi became a USAT Level 1 Triathlon Coach in March 2016 and a Certified Personal Fitness Trainer - Health Fitness Instructor (CPFT-) through the Athletics and Fitness Association of America - AFAA in May 2014.
