Leonard Shaughnessy

Leonard Shaughnessy currently serves as a Physical Education Teacher and Assistant Football Coach at Rehobeth Middle School and Rehobeth High School, respectively, since February 2023. As a professional member of the National High School Strength Coaches Association since December 2022 and a Level 1 Coach with USA Weightlifting since May 2020, Leonard brings extensive expertise in strength and conditioning. Leonard holds a certification as a High School Strength and Conditioning Specialist through the International Youth Conditioning Association, obtained in July 2014. Prior experience includes a position as a Strength and Conditioning Coach with Dothan City Schools from July 2014 to January 2023, and a role as a Physical Education/Health Instructor and Coach at Orange County Public Schools from August 2001 to July 2014. Leonard’s foundational knowledge in the field is supported by a Master of Science in Foundations of Education and a Bachelor of Science in Sports and Fitness Management, both degrees earned from Troy University.
