Tana Gardner

Tana Gardner serves as Executive Managing Director and Deputy Chief Financial Officer for USAA Real Estate. She is responsible for the Finance & Accounting team of approximately 70 people with oversight including corporate finance, performance reporting, fund accounting, tax, technical accounting and process accounting. She participates in the company’s Risk Committee overseeing all internal controls over financial reporting and is a member of the firm’s Executive Committee.

Prior to joining USAA Real Estate in 2020, Tana led the development, preconstruction and finance teams at a vertically integrated multifamily developer in Columbus, Ohio. There she was a member of the company’s Investment Committee and Operations Committee and oversaw the functions of development, risk management and financial reporting, planning & analysis. Tana began her career with PricewaterhouseCoopers where she spent 14 years in the real estate assurance practice in Boston, New York and Cleveland, focused on public and private real estate and infrastructure investment companies, REITs and private equity funds.

Tana received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Vanderbilt University and a Master of Accounting degree from the University of Southern California. She also serves on the AICPA/CIMA Construction and Real Estate Conference committee and is a NCREIF Member and contributor to the NCREIF Performance Committee and is a Certified Public Accountant.
