Carlos A. Plata Jr., Cissp

Carlos A. Plata Jr. holds a Master of Science in Computer Information Systems and possesses certifications including CISSP and CISM. Currently serving as Director of Data Privacy at USAA since August 2018, Carlos is responsible for Sensitive Data Security Governance, Risk, and Compliance, focusing on PCI oversight and data security policy implementation. Previously, Carlos served in the US Army for over 23 years, where roles included Cyber Operations Officer and Director of Operations for a Cyber Protection Team, contributing significantly to the establishment of critical cyberspace operations and the defense of Department of Defense assets. Carlos has extensive experience in project management, training, and management across various military and civilian domains.
