Jeff Vales Kennedy has had various work experiences starting from roles as an Assistant Language Teacher at the Japan Exchange and Teaching Program(me) (JET) in 2011 up until their current role as an Engineer at Pepper since 2023. Jeff has worked as a Staff Assistant at Harvard Business School in 2013, and as a Program Manager Intern at Microsoft and a Software Engineering Intern at Bentley Systems, Amazon Web Services, and IMDb.com in 2014 and 2015. In 2017, Jeff worked as a Software Engineer at YugaByte Inc where they handled full-stack and distributed systems engineering, and then as a Senior Software Engineer at Crunchbase from 2018 to 2020. Jeff also worked as a Senior Software Engineer at Kiva from 2020 to 2022, where they specialized in authentication systems and biometrics.
Jeff Vales Kennedy pursued a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and Philosophy from the University of Toronto from 2006 to 2011. In the academic year 2009-2010, they also spent time studying the same subjects at The University of Edinburgh. Later, from 2013 to 2015, Jeff completed their Post-Baccalaureate degree in Computer Engineering from Boston University. Finally, in 2015-2016, they obtained a master's degree in Software Engineering from the Carnegie Mellon University Silicon Valley.
