Lionel W. has a diverse range of work experience spanning over several years. Lionel currently serves as the COO for UserWay, where they focus on bringing accessibility solutions to large users' websites and digital assets. Lionel advocates for the differently-abled on standards bodies and ensures compliance-as-a-service.

In 2010, Lionel became the R&D Director for dMASS Inc., leading engineering teams in developing a system for detecting and classifying innovations. Lionel also evangelized and presented at Fortune 500 companies to showcase dMASS capabilities. Lionel worked at dMASS Inc. until July 2020.

Lionel was the co-founder and CTO of Platin.io, a secure proof of location protocol, from May 2017 to August 2019. Lionel guided the R&D team, curated technologies, and ensured overall system security.

From 2008 to 2017, Lionel held various roles at Cisco Systems. Lionel served as the Agile & DevOps Transformation Lead for Cisco Secure Video, leading the product transformation team. Lionel also worked as the DRM Secure Deployment Manager for Cisco DRM product.

Lionel's work experience also includes positions at Meeco.Me as a Business and Technology Architect from March 2015 to May 2017, as a co-founder of Emmett Global, an internet security company from 2011 to May 2017, as the Integration and Test Manager for NDS from February 2003 to August 2008, as the Identity, Access Management and PKI Systems Engineer for News Datacom from August 1997 to February 2003, and as involved in new product design at Kulicke & Soffa in 1996.

Lionel W. obtained a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in College Scholar (Physics) from Cornell University, where they studied from 1977 to 1981. Lionel then pursued a PhD in Ethnomusicology at Wesleyan University, from 1983 to 1991. Prior to their college education, Lionel attended Bronx High School of Science from 1973 to 1977, where they specialized in AP Math, Physics, and Honors courses.

In addition to their formal education, Lionel has also obtained certifications throughout their career. Lionel became a member of the Forbes Technology Council in December 2021, having been recognized for their expertise in technology by Forbes. Additionally, in May 2008, Lionel obtained an ISTQB Certified QA Tester certification from the International Software Testing Qualifications Board.
