Boris Volodin

Boris Volodin has over two decades of work experience in various roles and companies. Boris is currently the VP of Engineering at Ushio America, Inc. since April 2016. Prior to this, they worked at PD-LD Inc. for almost 16 years, holding positions such as Chief Technology Officer and Director of R&D. At PD-LD Inc, they were involved in developing and manufacturing Volume Bragg Grating (VBG) technology and fiber-optic components. Before PD-LD Inc., Volodin worked as a Sr. Research Scientist at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center and as the Director of R&D at Accuwave Corp.

Boris Volodin pursued their education with great dedication and achieved remarkable accomplishments. Boris began their academic journey in 1983 at Lomonosov Moscow State University (MSU), where they earned a Master of Science (M.S.) degree in Physics. Following this, they continued to expand their knowledge and expertise by enrolling at the University of Arizona in 1991. At the University of Arizona, Boris pursued their passion for Physics and Optical Sciences, culminating in the successful completion of a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) degree in 1995. Boris'sexceptional educational background has undoubtedly laid a strong foundation for their career in the field of Physics and Optical Sciences.
