Diana Garcia

Group Product Manager at uShip

Diana Garcia began their professional career in 2007 as an Assistant at KUT Radio. In 2009, they became the Founding Program Coordinator for the K-12 Outreach Program at CIBER, where they organized a mentoring program for underprivileged high school students, coordinated events with lesson plans for the International Business class, and developed a website for the program through Microsoft Expression. In 2011, they joined USAA as a Project Manager, where they served as a ScrumMaster for USAA Labs, facilitated backlog grooming, stand ups, demos and retrospectives within the Cybersecurity focus area, worked closely with product owners to refine their backlog of upcoming development work, collaborated with their scrum teams and product owners to review and eliminate impediments, coached teams to help with communication and collaboration to meet the teams' iteration goals, and advocated for the Agile community on best practices, certifications and available resources. Diana also served as a Project Manager for IT Project Execution, managing projects to create developer tools, change IT processes, and support availability within IT. Additionally, they were the Workload Manager for the Enterprise Security and Fraud Apps team, implementing Stream Agile methodologies for the management of the team workload, managing the team workload consisting of defects, perfective, adaptive and internal work, customer support, and small mods, and coordinating daily with offshore and near shore for status, knowledge transfers, and impediments. In 2018, they joined uShip as a Senior Product Manager, and also held the roles of Product Manager, Associate Product Manager, Agile Coach, Sr Scrum Master, and Scrum Master.

Diana Garcia earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration with a focus in Management Information Systems from the Texas McCombs School of Business from 2007 to 2011. Diana also did exchange programs at Tecnológico de Monterrey in 2009 and FGV - Fundação Getulio Vargas in 2010. In addition, they have obtained a number of certifications including Leading without Formal Authority from LinkedIn in March 2018, Certified Project Manager from the Project Management Institute in October 2013, Certified Scrum Master from the Scrum Alliance, Certified Scrum Product Owner from the Scrum Alliance, and PMI - ACP from the Project Management Institute.
