William Adams, PhD, ATC, FACSM has a diverse work experience in the field of sports medicine and research. William is currently serving as the Associate Director of Sports Medicine Research at the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee, where they oversee and directs the program focused on injury and illness prevention in sports. Additionally, they are the owner of Adams Sports Medicine Consulting LLC, where they provide research solutions for various clients in the sports medicine and sports science fields.

In terms of academia, Dr. Adams is an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, and previously held the position of Assistant Professor at the same institution from 2017 to 2021. William has also served in leadership roles at the Korey Stringer Institute, including Vice President of Sport Safety and Director of Sport Safety Policies.

Dr. Adams has a strong educational background, with a PhD in exercise physiology and clinical experience as a board-certified athletic trainer. William has also been recognized as a Fellow of the American College of Sports Medicine. Following this, they attended the University of Connecticut, where they obtained a Master of Science (MS) degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from 2010 to 2012. Lastly, they furthered their education at the University of Connecticut and earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from 2012 to 2016.
