Captain (capt) at USPHS Commissioned Corps

Aimee Geissler has extensive experience in public health, particularly in epidemic response and global health security, with a current role as the Regional Global Health Security Country Manager at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), overseeing initiatives in Burkina Faso, Rwanda, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia since June 2009. In previous positions at the CDC, Aimee has held various leadership roles, including COVID-19 Response Lead and Director of Global Health Security, while also contributing to Ebola preparedness and response efforts. Aimee's background includes conducting significant research as a Graduate Student Scientist at the University of California, Berkeley, where a Doctor of Philosophy in Infectious Disease Immunology was earned, along with a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology & Biostatistics and a Certificate in International Health. Aimee has also volunteered as a counselor and mentor for Camp Heartland and served in various research and educational roles at institutions such as the National Institutes of Health and Stanford University School of Medicine.
