Denise Hembree has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry. Denise started their career in 1996 as an LVN-RN at East Texas Medical Center, where they worked in various units and eventually obtained their ADN. Denise then moved to Palestine Regional Medical Center, where they worked as an RN Charge Nurse in different departments, including the surgical floor, step-down cardiac unit, and ICU. In 2003, they joined Trinity Mother Frances Health System as a Charge Nurse in the 6 Ornelas Ortho/Neuro/Gyn/Uro department. In 2006, they became the Director of Inpatient Services & ER/Clinical IT at Texas Spine & Joint Hospital. Denise then worked as the Chief Nursing Officer at Precision Spine Care and later served as the Director of Nursing at Highland Park Skilled Nursing. From 2016 to 2018, they were the Branch Manager/Administrator at Angels Care Home Health. Currently, they are serving as the Interim Sr. Director of Nursing at UT Health East Texas. Overall, Denise Hembree has gained extensive experience in nursing management, clinical operations, and compliance-related matters throughout their career.

Denise Hembree holds a Masters of Science in Nursing Administration, which they earned from The University of Texas at Tyler between 2005 and 2010.
