Steve Hernandez

Steve Hernandez, SHRM-SCP, has a diverse and extensive background in talent management, organizational development, and leadership development. With their most recent role as the Senior Director of Organizational Effectiveness and Talent Programs at UT Health San Antonio, they are responsible for leading and implementing talent management programs and initiatives. Prior to that, Steve founded Leadership Direction Strategies, where they served as a thought leader in talent management.

Steve has also held various leadership positions in renowned organizations such as Trinity Industries, Inc., Cinemark, SRS Distribution Inc., Chesapeake Energy, IBM, Tenet Healthcare, and Greatwide Logistics Services. In these roles, they developed and implemented strategies to improve talent development, retention, diversity, and inclusion. Steve also led initiatives such as leadership and executive development, employee survey administration, talent reviews, succession planning, performance management, coaching, and vendor partnerships.

Throughout their career, Steve has demonstrated a strong focus on driving organizational effectiveness and helping leaders and teams reach their full potential. Steve has a proven track record of implementing successful talent management programs and providing strategic guidance to key stakeholders. With their expertise in organizational development, leadership development, and training, Steve is a valued leader in the field.

Steve Hernandez has a Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) degree in Human Resources Management from St. Mary's University. Steve also holds a Graduate Certificate in Dispute Resolution and Mediation from Southern Methodist University and a Master of Science (MS) degree in Human Resource Management and Training & Development from Amberton University.

In terms of certifications, Steve obtained the Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) designation from SHRM in 2017. Steve has also obtained certifications in various assessments and coaching methods, such as the Birkman Method, Lominger - Voices 360, Hogan Assessments (HPI, HDS, MVPI), DiSC, and the Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) Qualified. Additionally, Steve has completed training programs in the 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, G.R.O.W. Coaching, Situational Leadership II, and they are Sprint's Triple C Trainer Certified.
