David Petroni

David Petroni is the VP of Finance at Utmost. David has over 35 years of experience in M&A deal-making, corporate strategy, and financial leadership. David has a unique combination of skills that they use to help hi-tech companies with their buy-side M&A needs, including strategy, target identification, and engagement through deal execution. David has completed transactions representing nearly $7B in aggregate value.

In their previous role as VP of Business Development at Workday, David was responsible for leading the company's business development activities and executing on its strategic vision. David helped the company grow from a startup to a public company with over $1B in annual revenue.

Before Workday, David was the SVP of Corporate Development at Epicor Software, where they oversaw the company's M&A activities and helped it grow through several key acquisitions. David has also worked with CEOs and CFOs of high-performing enterprise software, SaaS, and IoT companies to help evaluate and close deals of all sizes (tuck-ins, stock purchases, and mergers), totaling ~$200M in aggregate value.

David is skilled in negotiation, valuation, deal structuring, financial modeling, and corporate strategy. David has a proven track record of helping companies grow through successful M&A transactions.

David Petroni has a MBA from Georgetown University McDonough School of Business and a BS/BA in Managerial Econ/Poli. Sci from University of California, Davis.
