Kim Cohen

Assistant Professor at Utrecht University

Kim Cohen is an Assistant Professor at Utrecht University, where research, teaching, and consultancy focus on Quaternary geology of the North Sea Basin, lowland geomorphology, and fluvial sedimentology, among other areas. Since January 2005, responsibilities include academic and applied research, often in collaboration with Deltares and TNO Geological Survey of the Netherlands, as well as teaching in undergraduate and graduate programs. Prior experience includes roles as a Senior Geologist and Geologist at Deltares and TNO, and as a Visiting Scholar at the University of Cambridge and a postdoctoral researcher at Max-Planck-Institut für Biogeochemie. Kim Cohen earned a PhD in Quaternary Geology from Utrecht University, with a thesis on neotectonics in the Rhine-Meuse delta, following a BSc and MSc in Physical Geography from the same institution.
