Job description

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Business Development Manager to generate significant sales growth within major End Users, via lead identification and working with key distribution partners. This is largely a specification role as once the business is secured, it is vital that specifications are secure to avoid any future switch selling by competitors.   

Key Focus and core responsibilities:    

    • Identifying and hunting prospects within primary markets, working with Marketing to generate awareness of the V12 Brand.
      • Prospecting activity (Including telephone prospecting) and building a pipeline of opportunities in line with V12’s growth plans.
      • Developing major opportunities into Sales Qualified leads as required by liaising closely with V12 marketing team to ensure that well-qualified leads are identified, developed into opportunities and converted to orders and recorded in Hubspot CRM.
      • Developing relationships with end-user Health & Safety Managers and Occupational Health professionals to identify and secure product specifications, to ensure that there is a recorded pipeline of H&S and OH contacts with progress reports and specifications produced as required.
      • Developing relationships with multiple key stakeholders within each End-User (Senior Management, Purchasing, Unions, etc
      • Utilisation of telephone communication to be the primary method for engaging & prospecting.
      • Conducting End-user footwear Audits – Focusing on risk identification and specification via H&S professionals, to ensure that the required number of End-user footwear Audits are conducted to the required standard.
      • Taking overall responsibility for nominated existing business within large End Users
      • Financial lead and lag measures are to be mutually agreed upon together as part of the on-boarding process
      • That activity KPIs and sales growth targets are met including acquisition of contracts with large “Blue Chip” Companies.
      • That the sales pipeline is developed and maintained from opportunity identification and Specification through to order placement – Logging anticipated revenue generated each month through the current fiscal year.
      • That anticipated sales growth within key target End-Users is delivered.
      • That contract leakage is prevented, and long-term business is secured.

Required Knowledge & Competencies: 

      • Previous sales experience, understanding of sales principles and techniques.
        • Proficient in executing sales strategies.
        • Ability to be creative in finding and closing opportunities.
        • Capability to negotiate terms and close deals.
        • Ability to adapt strategies based on changing market conditions or customer needs.
        • Strong drive and motivation to meet and exceed sales targets.
        • Persistence and resilience in the face of rejection or setbacks.
        • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
        • Proven experience of the Whale hunting methodology
        • Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key decision-makers at major end users.
        • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and metrics to inform decision-making.
        • Knowledge of the safety footwear industry or related sectors is a plus
