Yuhong Liu

Yuhong Liu is a highly experienced geological advisor currently serving as a Senior Geological Advisor at Vaalco Energy since October 2025. Prior to this role, Yuhong held geological advisory positions at Sinopec Tech Houston, Apache Corporation, and ONGC Videsh Atlantic Inc. Notable previous roles include Integrated Interpretation and Modeling Network Leader and Senior Reservoir Modeler at Chevron, as well as Advanced Senior Geologist at Marathon Oil Corporation. Yuhong began a career in academia as an Assistant Professor and Lecturer at China University of Petroleum in Beijing. Educational qualifications include a Ph.D. in Geological and Environmental Science from Stanford University, an MBA from The Wharton School, a Master of Science in Reservoir Characterization from China University of Petroleum, and a Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Geology from China University of Petroleum (East China).
