Xuan W.

Xuan W. has a diverse range of work experience. They currently work as a Research Scientist at Vaccitech, starting in 2022. Prior to that, they held the position of Postdoctoral Research Scientist at the University of Oxford from September 2019 to November 2021. During this time, they researched cell signaling pathways and posttranslational modifications driving inflammation, provided support to the research team, attended talks on intellectual property rights, and served on the Departmental Safety Advisory Committee.

They also worked as a Business Development Intern at Camnexus IoT for a short period in August 2021. Xuan W. was a Research Associate at the University of Birmingham from March 2019 to September 2019, where they concurrently worked on pending publications from their PhD and managed collaborations with metabolomics and mathematical modeling experts. They were a Visiting Researcher at Imperial College London from January 2019 to March 2019, securing funding for their project and acquiring research skills in bone marrow-derived macrophage culture and fluorescence dilution.

Before their time at Imperial College London, Xuan W. was a Doctoral Researcher at the University of Birmingham from September 2014 to December 2018. During this period, they conducted research in antibiotic resistance and bacterial physiology, published a research article, contributed to a literature review, and supervised undergraduate and master's level research students.

Prior to their academic career, they worked as a Translator Aide at Despacho Jurídico Lic. Kan Fengqin from January 2014 to September 2014, providing translation services for investment documents, assisting in meetings with clients, and translating verbal communications. They also served as a Teaching Assistant at Instituto Politécnico Nacional from September 2013 to June 2014.

Xuan W. pursued their education in a scientific field, with a significant focus on immunity and infection. They completed their Bachelor's degree from the Instituto Politécnico Nacional in 2013, majoring in Chemist Bacteriologist Parasitologist. Following this, Xuan W. enrolled at the University of Birmingham in 2014 to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree. Their doctoral research further expanded their knowledge and expertise in the field of immunity and infection. Xuan W.'s educational journey spans from 2008 to 2019, with a prominent emphasis on scientific studies.
