Machine Learning Scientist at Valence Discovery

Cas Wognum has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries. They began as a Freelancer in the film industry, producing videos and animations for personal and commissioned projects, showcasing their entrepreneurial skills and creativity. After that, they worked as a Webdeveloper at Rentocaster from November 2017 to August 2020. Concurrently, they also served as a Student Assistant at Technische Universiteit Eindhoven, supporting students with their assignments in data analytics using Python and relevant libraries. In 2019, Cas joined Orbisk as a Machine Learning Engineer, where they researched computer vision models to detect and recognize food waste, as well as built and maintained the associated annotation pipeline. Currently, they hold the position of Machine Learning Scientist at Valence Discovery, demonstrating their continued growth and expertise in this field.

Cas Wognum's education history begins in 2009 when they attended Het Ashram College, where they completed their VWO degree with a focus on Gymnasium, C&M, and Informatica. In 2016, they obtained a CCVX deelcertificaat VWO in Wiskunde B from WisMon / Bèta onderwijsinstituut.

They then pursued their Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Technische informatica / Computertechniek / Technische computerkunde from Eindhoven University of Technology, graduating in 2019.

In the same year, Cas Wognum started their Master of Science (MS) degrees simultaneously at Utrecht University. They pursued a degree in Game and Media Technology as well as Artificial Intelligence, which are expected to be completed in 2022.

In addition to their academic achievements, Cas Wognum also holds a certification in PADI Open Water, obtained from PADI in December 2015.
