Steven Franckhauser

Steven Franckhauser is a Certified Information Privacy Professional in the United States and European Economic Area (CIPP/US and CIPP/E), Steve is the Head Legal Counsel and Chief Data Privacy Officer for ValGenesis. Previously, he served as Co-Director of Cyber Security and Risk Advisory Services and Senior Director of Energy Services for HBK CPAs & Consultants. Among his many accomplishments as a practicing attorney, Steve has been intimately involved in acting as counsel to M&A transactions, corporate governance, contract creation, revision and negotiation, and commercial litigation. Steve is a prolific speaker and national instructor on contractual, business, and privacy topics for continuing legal education forums. Steve is a past Adjunct Professor of Law at Duquesne University School of Law where he taught Business Planning and Adjunct Professor at the Pennsylvania State University where he taught Information Privacy and Security in the College of Information Sciences and Technology. He has testified before multiple state legislative committees and served on various business governmental joint task forces. While serving at HBK, Steve was dispatched to model and create a cyber security joint venture between five international technology entities, including IBM business partners. Steve earned his Juris Doctorate from Duquesne University School of Law and his BA from The Ohio State University.
