Michael Gill Ma, Cnp

Michael Gill, MA, CNP has a diverse work experience that spans multiple industries and roles. Michael currently serves as the Executive Director of Project Management at Valley of the Sun YMCA, where they are responsible for overseeing projects and ensuring their successful completion. Prior to this, they held positions such as Associate Executive Director, Senior Program Director, and Membership Experience Director at the same organization, demonstrating their growth and leadership capabilities.

Before joining Valley of the Sun YMCA, Michael worked as a Corporate and Foundation Grants Specialist at A New Leaf, where they managed grants and funding for the organization. Michael also gained valuable experience at YMCA of Greater Boston, where they held various roles including Community Engagement & SharePoint Consultant, Community Engagement Manager, and Intake Specialist.

Additionally, Michael has experience in youth development as a Youth Development Staff at West Suburban YMCA and as a Unit Leader at Project Morry. Michael also served as a Field Team Leader in AmeriCorps NCCC, leading a team of young-adult Corps Members for 11 months of National Service.

Michael holds a Master's degree, as well as a Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) certification, showcasing their dedication to continuous learning and professional development. Michael Gill, MA, CNP has a diverse education history. Michael obtained their Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) in Photography from Cazenovia College in the years 2012 to 2016. During this time, they also pursued a University Certificate in British Studies in Photography at Canterbury Christ Church University from 2014 to 2015.

Furthering their education, Michael pursued a Master of Arts (MA) in Sustainable International Development from The Heller School for Social Policy and Management at Brandeis University between 2017 and 2019. Additionally, in 2018 to 2019, they obtained the National Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) degree in Non-Profit/Public/Organizational Management from ASU Watts College of Public Service & Community Solutions.

In addition to their formal education, Michael Gill has also acquired numerous certifications. Michael completed the Certified Nonprofit Professional (CNP) certification from the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance in March 2019. Furthermore, they obtained certifications such as YMCA Global Leader Certification and Leader Certification from the YMCA of the USA (National Resource Office) in November 2020 and November 2022, respectively. Michael also holds certifications in Lean Six Sigma Green Belt, Wilderness First Aid, HSI Level 2 Instructor (BLS, FA, O2), C.A.S.E.
