Derek G. Hipp

Derek has over eight years of public accounting and consulting experience specializing in financial institutions. Derek leads the consulting and product implementation services portion of Valuant. This group provides various consulting services for financial institution clients ranging in asset size from $500 Million to $32 Billion. Derek specializes in Day 1 valuation and due diligence services for Whole Bank and FDIC-assisted acquisitions as well as branch purchases, Day 2 accounting under both ASC 310-30 (SOP 03-3) and ASC 310-20 (FAS 91), Allowance for Loan Loss services under ASC 450-20 and ASC 310-10, historical loan prepayment speed analyses, and historical deposit studies. More recently, Derek has assisted clients in preparing for ASC 326 (“CECL”) through readiness activities and implementation of the “ValuCast Suite-CECL” SaaS solution.

Derek is a Co-Founder of a proprietary suite of software solutions, ValuCast, which contains modules to assist financial institutions with the various services outlined above. Derek leads the consulting and product delivery services of the Valuant team. Prior to founding Valuant, he served as Manager in a consulting practice focused on financial institutions at a top 30 accounting firm. Prior to his time in consulting and data analytics, he served as an external auditor for financial institutions.
