David Cabrera

David Cabrera serves as the Vice Chair of the Science Policy Committee at the American Society for Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET) since July 2023. Additionally, Cabrera has held numerous leadership roles at the Association of Independent Research Institutes (AIRI) since April 2016, including President of the Board of Directors and various positions on the Board. At the Van Andel Institute, Cabrera has been Chief of Staff since 2013, overseeing faculty relations, recruitment, and strategic planning, among other responsibilities. Prior experience includes a key role as a Program Analyst at the National Institutes of Health, where Cabrera contributed to clinical trial management and policy formulation. Cabrera’s educational background includes a Master of Science in Marine Biology with a focus on Pharmacology from the College of Charleston and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from St. Mary's College of Maryland.
