John Muth

John Muth is a seasoned transportation and engineering professional with extensive experience in various leadership roles. Since June 2020, John has served as Managing Director at VHB in Charlotte. Prior to this position, John worked at the Charlotte Area Transit System for two decades, where responsibilities included Deputy Director and Interim Chief Executive Officer/Public Transit Director. John also held the role of Deputy Director for Development and has a background as Transportation Planning Division Manager and Traffic Engineer II at the Charlotte Department of Transportation. Earlier career experience includes a position as Project Manager at VHB and Graduate Teaching Fellow at West Virginia University. John earned a Master of Science in Civil Engineering and a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from West Virginia University, complemented by executive education from the Eno Transit Executive Seminar and training from the American Public Transportation Association.
