Craig Riley

Medical Director of Population Health & Medical Education at Vancouver Clinic

Dr. Craig Riley is a hospitalist with a passion for reducing burnout and helping providers deliver high-value, cost-conscious care. As part of Vancouver Clinic’s leadership team, Dr. Riley has worked to improve opioid management safety, foster nurse practitioner education, and redesign primary care to increase staff, provider, and patient satisfaction.

His medical practice as an internist is diverse. He is an outpatient provider in the Transitional Care Clinic, an inpatient provider at both local hospitals, and a medical director at a skilled nursing facility. He continues to help Vancouver Clinic create more opportunities for heart-to-heart connections with patients and support the work-life balance of doctors.

As a provider, Dr. Riley believes in not just listening to patients, but in truly understanding what they are experiencing. He considers the compassion he offers to be just as important as the medical care he delivers. Dr. Riley has a heart for helping patients through difficult transitions in their lives, educating people on managing chronic illnesses, and supporting patients as they overcome health challenges.

Dr. Riley is a Northwest native and completed his education and training in Portland, Oregon. He earned his medical degree from Oregon Health & Science University. He completed a residency in internal medicine at Providence Portland Medical Center, serving as chief resident his final year. Dr. Riley also holds a bachelor of science in biochemistry from Portland State University.
