Lidia Surman is currently the Chief of Staff at Vancouver Island University. Lidia has previously held positions as the Chief of Staff and Strategy at NorQuest College, a Course Instructor at the British Columbia Institute of Technology, and the Director of Policy Coordination and Ministry Relations/Executive Policy Manager/Special Advisor to the COO for the Government of Alberta.

Lidia has always been driven by a desire to help others and make a difference in their community. Lidia is passionate about education and believes that everyone should have access to opportunities that will allow them to reach their full potential. In their role as Chief of Staff, Lidia is responsible for providing strategic advice and direction to the President, overseeing the development and implementation of institutional plans and initiatives, and leading a team of dedicated staff who are committed to making Vancouver Island University a top choice for students.
