Marika de Decker

Marika De Decker, PMP, has a diverse work experience spanning over two decades. Marika started their career in 1997 as an Operations Officer at Vancouver Airport Authority, where they coordinated daily airport activities and monitored mission-critical systems. Marika then served as a Scheduler, Schedule Planner/Airport Slot Management, and later as a Resource Planner/Scheduler, where they developed detailed operational schedules, analyzed schedules against baselines, and introduced new operational procedures.

In 2008, Marika joined Prolog Development Center as a Marketing Manager - Aviation, responsible for planning and organizing marketing activities, conducting business development, and translating user requirements into functional requirements for system upgrades. Marika also coordinated international trade shows and prepared marketing materials.

From 2008 to 2010, they worked as a Consultant - Airport Operations Expert at EUROCONTROL, where they developed business cases, defined project requirements, and conducted cost-benefit analysis. Marika focused on real-time flight data exchange with airports and B2B services.

Marika then joined Goodyear Dunlop Tires Operations S.A. in 2011 as a Project Manager - B2C eCommerce Executive. In this role, they managed projects related to B2C eCommerce.

In 2012, Marika returned to Vancouver Airport Authority as a Resource Planner/Scheduler, where they continued to develop operational schedules, analyzed schedules against baselines, and proposed enterprise business solutions for improved operations.

In 2015, they briefly worked at TELUS as a Project Manager - Wireless Operations, responsible for managing projects related to wireless operations.

Since 2016, Marika has been with Vantage Airport Group, initially serving as a Manager, Airport Transitions, and later taking on roles as Operations & Systems Project Manager, Acting Director, Operations, and currently as the Director, Operations. In these positions, they brought leadership and expertise to network airports in project management, operations, and the promotion and implementation of common use airport operating principles. Marika also led operations and systems projects that enhanced airport operations across the Vantage network of airports.

Marika De Decker, PMP, has an extensive education history in the field of management and business. Marika obtained their Diploma in Marketing Management from Kwantlen University College in the years 1994 to 1997. Following this, Marika pursued a Bachelor's degree in Business from Simon Fraser University, which they completed from 2000 to 2004. In 2009 to 2011, they pursued their Master's degree in Management from Boston University. Additionally, Marika holds the certification of Project Management Professional from the Project Management Institute. It is not specified when they obtained this certification.
