Hydraulic Engineer / Chief Mechanic at Vantage Drilling International

Craig Standen has a diverse work experience that spans over several industries. Craig started their career in 1992 as a Class 1 Vehicle Mechanic with Royal Electrical & Mechanical Engineers - REME and worked there until 2006. Craig then worked as a Mechanical Field Service Engineer at MSI Ltd from 2006 to 2008. Following that, they served as a Mechanical Maintenance Technician at Nissan Motor Corporation from 2008 to 2009. Craig also worked as a Mechanical Technician at Tor Coatings for a short period in 2009. From 2009 to 2013, they worked as a Mechanical Field Service Engineer at National Oilwell Varco. Craig then joined Seadrill as a Hydraulic Technician / Rig Mechanic in 2013 and worked there until 2020. Craig subsequently worked as a Mechanical Fitter at Global Tunnelling Experts from 2020 to 2021. Craig later joined Stena Drilling as a Hydraulic Engineer in 2021 and is currently employed with VANTAGE DRILLING as a Hydraulic Engineer / Chief Mechanic starting from September 2022.

Craig Standen has a diverse education history in engineering. Craig attended Blackburn College in the United Kingdom from 2006 to 2008, where they obtained an HNC degree in Mechanical Engineering. Prior to that, from 2001 to 2001, Craig attended the School of Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (SEME) in Bordon, where they completed the City and Guilds part 3 degree in Vehicle Craft Studies. From 1996 to 2001, they also attended SEME Bordon and earned an NVQ Level 3 degree in Engineering Maintenance. In 1992 to 1994, Craig studied at Princess Marina College in Arborfield and obtained a BTEC ONC degree in Engineering.

Additionally, Craig has obtained several certifications related to their field. In 2022, they obtained an Oil and Gas UK (OGUK) Offshore Medical Certificate from the NPH Group: Occupational Health and Wellbeing. In 2021, they completed the Further Offshore Emergency Training (FOET) with Compressed Air Emergency Breathing System (CA-EBS) at the Falck Safety Services Training Center. Craig also completed the Tunnel Entry and Emergency Procedures Course certified by City & Guilds in 2021 and the Tunnel Safety Training Scheme Course certified by CITB in 2021. In 2020, Craig became a CSCS Advanced Craft - Skilled Gold cardholder through the Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS). In 2018, they obtained a Panama Seamans Book as a Marine Technician from the Panama Maritime Authority.
