John Welch

John Welch has extensive work experience in the field of network operations and infrastructure. John started their career in 1988 as a Systems Engineer at Aero Technologies Inc., where they designed and tested a digital autopilot system for unmanned aircraft. John then worked at Applied Systems, Inc. as a Network Systems Engineer, where they were responsible for designing and maintaining a large corporate LAN/WAN infrastructure.

In 1999, John joined GMV Network as a Senior Technical Advisor, where they planned and installed network infrastructure for multicast audio and video streaming. John also managed in-house wiring and security systems. John later worked at Payton-Coyne Racing as a Data Acquisition Geek, handling the installation and operation of data acquisition systems for a CART race team.

From 2000 to 2001, John worked at Urban Media as an OSR-II Field Service Technician, supervising employees and expanding the infrastructure for private network services. John then joined Deutsche Boerse Systems Inc. in 2002 as a Network Operations member, responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a global IT infrastructure supporting financial exchanges.

In 2013, John became the Chief Network Technician at GT-T Telecom, overseeing the operations and expansion of a co-location IT infrastructure. John then joined Equinix in 2014 as a Senior Network Technician IV, contributing to the network operations of the company.

Prior to their current position, John worked at Cloud 5 Networking as a Service Delivery Engineer, managing and installing network infrastructure for the hospitality industry. John'sresponsibilities included planning new installations and configuring firewalls and wireless networks.

Since 2019, John has been employed at Vapor IO as a Data Center Operations Technician.

John Welch attended Prairie State College from 1999 to 2004 without completing a degree or declaring a field of study. Prior to that, they obtained an Associate's degree in Electronics from Thornton Community College, where they studied from 1984 to 1993.
