Head of Marketing at Vara

Gaurav Gursahani has an extensive work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Gaurav currently holds the position of Head of Marketing at Vara since 2023. Prior to this, Gursahani worked as a Growth and Insights Specialist for Self Employed from February 2020. Gaurav also served as an Entrepreneur at Antler from June 2022 to August 2022.

Gursahani worked at Protenga as a Lead - D2C Growth and GTM for Pet Food from March 2022 to May 2022, where they played a key role in building and commercializing a vertically integrated pet consumer product. Gaurav developed various aspects of commercialization and communications, including design, messaging, and channel planning.

In the past, Gursahani worked as the Head of Growth for Ordinary Folk from February 2021 to January 2022. During this time, they collaborated with the founder to establish the company's operating rhythm across marketing, distribution, and new products. Gaurav also worked as a Swiss army knife for Ordinary Folk from December 2020 to January 2021.

Gursahani gained valuable experience as a Strategy Director - Brand Experience at Publicis from July 2019 to January 2020. Prior to that, they served as a Senior Strategist at R/GA from February 2016 to January 2019. In this role, they led global and regional engagements for various companies, including conducting primary research, synthesis, and brand strategy for the pilot product launch of YouTube GO for Google Next Billion Users.

Earlier in their career, Gursahani worked at Ogilvy & Mather as a Strategy Consultant from March 2014 to January 2016. Gaurav held multiple roles at the organization, including Junior Strategy Consultant, Account Executive, and Intern. Gaurav also worked as an Account Executive at DDB Mudra Group from September 2011 to March 2012.

Gursahani began their professional journey as an Account Executive at The PRactice from September 2010 to August 2011. Here, they developed skills in crafting and pitching story angles, creating communication materials, and writing, with clients including Educational Testing Service (ETS) and TeamLease.

Gaurav Gursahani holds a Bachelor's degree in Financial Accounting and Management from the University of Mumbai. In addition to their formal education, they have obtained several certifications, including "Prof G - Business Strategy Sprint" from Section4 in October 2020, "Product Masterclass - Building and Shipping Digital Products" from Product School in July 2020, "Advanced Google Analytics" from Google in June 2020, "Masterclass in Behavioural Economics by Ogilvy" from 42courses in June 2020, "New Models of Business in Society" from University of Virginia Darden School of Business in April 2020, and "Social Impact Strategy - Tools for Entrepreneurs and Innovators" from the School of Social Policy & Practice at the University of Pennsylvania in April 2020. In 2019, they completed the "Design-Led Strategy: Design thinking for business strategy and entrepreneurship" course from the University of Sydney and the "Strategic Innovation: Managing Innovation Initiatives" course from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Gaurav also obtained the "Planning and Strategy Flight Path at Twitter Flight School" certification from Twitter in February 2016 and the "Community Management BlackBelt" certification from Ogilvy in June 2013.
