David McGookin

David McGookin is an experienced Senior Usability Researcher at Varian, specializing in enhancing user experience and safety in oncology software. Previously, David held the position of Senior User Experience Researcher at Ferratum Global, where insights from user research significantly influenced mobile banking product development. David has also contributed to academia as an Assistant Professor at Aalto University and Heriot Watt University, leading teams on innovative UX concepts and providing education to hundreds of students. In addition, David served as an External Examiner for the University of Limerick and has actively participated in impactful research projects focusing on accessibility for blind and visually impaired individuals at the University of Glasgow. David holds a Ph.D. and a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Glasgow.
