Dmitry Golovkin

Dmitry Golovkin has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple companies and roles. Dmitry currently serves as a Principal Computer Vision Engineer at Varjo, a position they have held since June 2022. Prior to this, Dmitry worked at Synopsys Inc for almost a decade, starting as a Senior Software Engineer in July 2013 and eventually progressing to the role of Staff Software Engineer. During their time at Synopsys, Dmitry was involved in R&D for the modern Synopsys Embedded Vision and Machine Learning Platform, focusing on defining requirements, development frameworks, and applications for various platforms. Dmitry also estimated the performance and power consumption of modern Synopsys ARC HS EV cores and worked on the ARC EM and ARC EM DSP platforms. Before Synopsys, Dmitry was employed at Samsung Electronics as a Senior Software Engineer, where they developed various audio products for consumer markets, including DVD and BD players, home theaters, and audio dock stations. Dmitry also worked as a Software Engineer at the company, specializing in DSP programming, audio signal DSP, and embedded firmware programming. Dmitry's career began at Saint-Petersburg Electo-Technichal University, Motorola Lab, where they served as a Team Leader and SW/HW Developer. In this role, they managed an R&D team, conducted DSP algorithms research and implementation, and supported study processes in DSP and MCU fundamental. Dmitry's notable achievement during this time was the R&D of a vehicle number recognition system based on Analog Devices ADSP-BF531.

Dmitry Golovkin completed their Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Saint-Petersburg Electo-Technical University in 1998. Dmitry then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Science from Saint Petersburg State Electrotechnical University "LETI" from 1998 to 2000. Following this, Dmitry became a post-graduate student at Saint-Petersburg Electro-Technical University from 2000 to 2003, specializing in Computer Science and Digital Signal Processing.
