Sampsa Lappalainen

Sampsa Lappalainen has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and computer vision. Sampsa is currently employed at Varjo as a Software Engineering Lead, where they started in September 2023 after working as a Senior Computer Vision Engineer from January 2022 to September 2023. Prior to Varjo, Sampsa worked at Sensible 4 Oy as a Senior Autonomous Vehicle Engineer from September 2020 to December 2021. Before that, they worked at Reaktor as a Software Architect from September 2018 to September 2020. Sampsa also gained valuable experience at Varian Medical Systems, where they served as a Software Architect from July 2016 to August 2018, a Senior Software Engineer from November 2013 to July 2016, and a Software Engineer from January 2010 to November 2013. Sampsa began their career as a Summer trainee at Nokia in 2008 and worked as a Research Assistant at the Helsinki Institute for Information Technology from June 2006 to December 2007.

Sampsa Lappalainen completed their MSc in Computer Science and Mathematics from the University of Helsinki between 2004 and 2010.
