John Stover

Prof Dr. John Stover joined vasopharm in 2021 as a freelance consultant.

He worked for more than 15 years in the fields of intensive care medicine and neurosurgery at the University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland, Charité Berlin, Germany, Henry Ford Hospital, Detroit and University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, USA. Afterwards he acquired 9 years of experience in Clinical Research and Development as well as Medical Affairs at Fresenius Kabi, Germany, Vifor Pharma, Switzerland, and Alexion Pharmaceuticals, Switzerland.

As Chief House Officer at the University Hospital Zurich he was also leading the clinical research team in Surgical Intensive Care Medicine and was responsible for several clinical trials as Principal Investigator.

In the pharmaceutical industry, he held leadership positions, being responsible for the planning and conduct of international approval and post-approval studies (phases 1-4 incl. real-world evidence), and contributed to the launches of several products.

He was Lecturer at the University Hospital Zurich, Switzerland. He is author of over 140 publications in the areas of brain injury, neuropharmacology, and nutrition.

Prof Stover received his MD from the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz, Germany in 1996, his Ph.D. from the University of Zurich, Switzerland in 2004, and was appointed titular professor University of Zurich, Switzerland in 2011.
