Sonya Smith

Sonya Smith currently serves as the Vice President and Dean of Admission and Student Financial Services at Vassar College, a position held since July 2019. Prior to this role, Sonya was the Director of Graduate Admission at the Princeton School of Public and International Affairs from November 2017 to June 2019. Additionally, Sonya has extensive experience in admissions at Princeton University, holding roles such as Associate Dean of Admission, Diversity Outreach, and Assistant Dean of Admission. Earlier positions include Assistant Dean of Admission and Associate Director of Admission at Stanford University, Director of College Counseling & Department Chair at Sage Hill School, and Associate Dean of Admission & Director of Multicultural Recruitment at Reed College. Sonya earned an A.B. in American Studies from Stanford University and a M.A. in American Culture from the University of Michigan, where Sonya is also a Doctoral Candidate in American Culture (history).
