Vast is looking for a(n) CAD Systems Administrator, reporting to the Director of Information Systems, to support the development of the systems that will be required for the design and build of artificial-gravity human-rated space stations. 

This will be a full-time, exempt position located in our Long Beach location. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Manage and maintain Siemens NX software and ensure its optimal performance
  • Develop and implement advanced modeling techniques and best practices
  • Expert in how to design and route plumbing systems in aerospace and defense applications
  • Experience with how to utilize parametric design principles to create flexible and efficient models
  • Experience with harness routing and integration within complex assemblies
  • Creation and management of drawing standards and templates
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to support design and manufacturing processes
  • Provide training and support to team members on Siemens NX tools and techniques
  • Template Parts & Part Families: Experienced in NX template and Part Family creation and management within Teamcenter
  • Standard Parts & Materials Libraries: Experienced in library management within Teamcenter
  • NX Check-Mate: Experienced in configuring NX checkers within Teamcenter

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • 8+ years of experience as a CAD Systems Administrator
  • Proficiency in modeling techniques, routing of plumbing, parametric design, and harness routing
  • Proficiency in developing and maintaining; NX templates, NX Part Families, & NX Material Libraries within Teamcenter
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and team collaboration skills

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with other CAD/PLM software packages
  • Knowledge of industry standards and best practices
  • Experience preparing NX job aids
  • Experience leading small-group/ad-hoc info sessions (e.g.,  lunch-and-learns)
  • Extensive experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry
  • Comfortable working in a high-stress environment balancing several projects at any given time, and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction
Salary Range: California
$155,000$190,000 USD
