Jewell Brey has a diverse work experience that spans across different industries and roles. Jewell started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where they conducted various research projects related to environmental medicine and utilized imaging and data processing software. They also worked as a Technical Staff at the BeAM Makerspace, assisting users and organizing workshops.

Jewell then joined The Johns Hopkins University as a Product Development Engineer and Design Studio TA, where they were responsible for guiding undergraduate students in the design process, conducting prototyping workshops, and maintaining studio equipment.

After that, Jewell worked as a Peace Corps Volunteer, focusing on improving sanitation and hygiene practices and collaborating with the Panamanian Government Ministry of Health to support water resource management.
