Phil Bolles

Associate Director, Experience Design at Velir

Phil Bolles has worked in the design industry since 2009. Phil began as a freelance designer, photographer and videographer. In 2010, they began a contract and permanent role as a designer and producer at Yale University. In 2011, they were the Taxonomy and DAM Lead, as well as a designer, videographer and photographer at International Justice Mission. From 2014 to 2017, they were a Senior Experience Designer and Project Lead at nclud, a Faculty at General Assembly, and a Senior Experience Designer at RP3 Agency. In 2015, they were a Design Consultant/Instructor at the National Archives and Records Administration. Since 2020, they have been the Associate Director of Experience Design at Velir.

Phil Bolles has a varied educational background. In 2019-2020, they completed a Data Science Certificate from General Assembly. In 2020-2021, they completed Certificates in Accessibility from Deque University. From 2001-2005, they obtained a BFA in Film and Television Production from New York University. In 2003, they completed Training & Development in Television from BBC London. Finally, from 2005-2008, they obtained an M.Div in Divinity from Duke University.
