Tom S.

Tom S. has a diverse work experience in the field of software engineering and DevOps. Tom started their career as a Software Developer at Ocado, where they worked on in-house web applications and a project team to redesign the warehouse control system. Tom then worked as an Engineer at MetaBroadcast, focusing on backend development and infrastructure management. At Imperial College London, they served as an Undergraduate Teaching Assistant, assisting in teaching programming languages. Tom then joined MOO as an Operations Engineer, handling Linux on private infrastructure and mentoring junior sysadmins. Tom later transitioned into the role of a Platform Engineer, specializing in Elasticsearch and developing a cross-service request tracing and error reporting system. Currently, they are employed at Velo Payments as a DevOps Engineer. In addition to their work experience, Tom has also written blog posts on various technical topics.

Tom S. attended Imperial College London from 2008 to 2013. During this time, they pursued a degree in Computing and successfully completed their MEng program.
