Atul Shrimal

Atul Shrimal has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and roles. Atul is currently the Vice President at Velocity since May 2022. Before that, they worked at McKinsey & Company, where they held various positions including Engagement Manager from October 2021 to May 2022, Associate from April 2020 to September 2021, and Junior Associate from June 2018 to April 2020.

Prior to joining McKinsey & Company, Atul worked with the Government of India. Atul served as an Indian Engineering Services officer at the Government's TERM (Telecom Enforcement, Resource & Monitoring) Cell in Pune. Their responsibilities included telecom regulation and enforcement, telecom security for Maharashtra and Goa, and liaising with various government agencies, industry, and academia. Atul also underwent extensive training at the National Telecommunications Institute for Policy Research, Innovation & Training, where they focused on technical, regulatory, legal, and security aspects of the telecom sector. Atul completed a policy research project on Internet Governance. Additionally, they worked as an Officer Trainee at the Department of Telecommunications and gained experience by being attached to various divisions and organizations related to the telecom sector.

Atul also has experience with the Indian Institute of Public Administration, where they served as an Officer Trainee for a few months in 2016. Prior to that, they worked as a Scientist at ISRO (Indian Space Research Organization) from September 2009 to August 2013.

Earlier in their career, Atul served as a Teaching Assistant at SGSITS, Indore, and as a Summer Research Fellow at the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE), where they worked under the mentorship of Dr. Tinku Acharya at Avisere Inc., Kolkata. Atul also worked as a Summer Trainee at the Centre for Electronics Test Engineering, STQC Directorate, Deptt. of IT, Govt of India.

Overall, Atul Shrimal brings a broad range of experience in leadership, consulting, engineering, research, and public administration to their current role as Vice President at Velocity.

Atul Shrimal completed their education from 2005 to 2009 at Shri G S Institute of Technology & Science, where they obtained a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) degree in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. Atul later pursued further education at the Indian School of Business from 2017 to 2018, where they completed the PGP in Management (MBA) program with a focus on Marketing and Strategy & Leadership. In addition to their academic qualifications, Atul also holds certifications such as Lean Six Sigma Certification obtained from KPMG India in August 2017, and an Amateur Station Operator Certificate (Restricted Grade) HAM Radio Operator obtained from the Government of India in August 2013.
