Mark Hayes

Mark Hayes has a diverse work experience spanning several industries. Mark currently works as a Manager for New Store Launch at the velofix Group of Companies. Prior to this, Mark held various roles in the creative industry, including Director, Producer, Writer, and Actor in freelance projects. Mark also worked as a Guest Instructor, teaching intercultural performance techniques. Mark has experience as an Interactive Designer, Developer, and Technical Illustrator, where they collaborated with clients to develop interactive design solutions. Mark has also worked as a Fleet Supervisor at Getir and as a Rider Service Technician at velofix Group of Companies. Mark has a background in the arts, having served as an Artistic Associate at Dixon Place and as the Founding Artistic Director of the Ominous Horse Performance Collective. Mark has also worked at The Museum of Modern Art as a Performance Facilitator and at Rikers Island/Breaking Walls as a Project Director, working on creative writing and performance initiatives for incarcerated youth. Additionally, Mark has been a Company Member at Hand2Mouth Theatre, where they co-created and performed in original devised performances and carried out administrative duties. Throughout their career, Mark has demonstrated skills in proposal writing, fundraising, contract negotiation, billing, and human resource management. Mark has worked on projects presented globally in places like New York City, Portland, Kalisz (Poland), and Stockholm (Sweden).

Mark Hayes has a diverse education history in the field of performing arts. In 1995, they attended the University of Oregon, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre Arts, which they completed in 1998. Later on, in 1999, Mark enrolled in the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre, where they completed a certification program in Professional Actor Training, concluding their studies in 2000. Seeking to further their education, Mark pursued a Master of Arts degree in Playwriting/Directing from Portland State University. Mark began this program in 2008 and successfully completed it in 2010. Most recently, in 2013-2014, Mark attended New York University, where they pursued a Master of Arts degree in Performance Studies, which they completed within that academic year.
