Hannah E. Shearer has a diverse work experience in various legal roles. Hannah E. began their career as a Foreign Summer Associate at Nagashima Ohno & Tsunematsu, where they supported corporate finance, securities litigation, and IP practice groups. Hannah E. then worked as a Law Clerk for the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, providing support to Honorable Paul J. Watford. After that, they joined Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP as an Associate, where they litigated consumer privacy and securities law cases for clients in the tech, financial services, and entertainment sectors. Hannah E. also advised international fashion and retail companies on privacy law and partnership contracts. At Giffords, they served as a Staff Attorney and later became the Litigation Director, gaining experience in leading litigation efforts. Currently, they work at Venafi as the Data Privacy and Product Compliance Lead, providing legal guidance to security and business teams with a focus on cybersecurity product development, encryption technology, privacy, and open source software.

Hannah E. Shearer holds a Bachelor's Degree in English from Yale University, which they obtained from 2005 to 2009. Hannah E. then pursued further education at Stanford Law School, where they completed their Doctor of Law (JD) degree from 2009 to 2012.
