João Barros

João Barros is the Founder and CEO of Veniam, a company they launched in Portugal and the United States. João has secured initial funding rounds for Veniam, Series A and Series B, with top tier VCs and corporate investors. João has also grown the team every year and negotiated contracts with telcos and OEMs. In addition, they have won eight industry and venture awards. João has also co-supervised the deployment and operation of the largest vehicular mesh network in the world.

João Barros has a PhD in Electrical Engineering and Information Technology from the Technical University of Munich. João also has a Fulbright in Information Theory from Cornell University. Additionally, they have an Erasmus in Electrical Engineering from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) and a Licenciatura in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Universidade do Porto.
