The Stock Management Manager holds a crucial role at the company, a large European and UK Independent Power Producer (“IPP”), directly reporting to the Head of Asset Maintenance. This managerial position pairs closely with the Reliability and Service Managers to ensure that stock and inventory management aligns with the company's operational needs, supporting efficient and uninterrupted power production across various locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Inventory Oversight: Develop, implement, and refine the stock management strategy to support Nadara's operational needs. This includes forecasting, planning, and procuring inventory that aligns with business objectives and operational reliability.

  • Collaboration with Reliability and Service Teams: Work with the Reliability and Service Managers to ensure that the inventory levels meet the operational and maintenance demands. Facilitate regular meetings to discuss forecasted needs, potential challenges, and strategies for mitigating risks associated with inventory levels.

  • Compliance and Regulation Management: Ensure that all aspects of stock management comply with relevant European and UK regulations. Stay updated on new legislation affecting inventory and stock management practices and implement necessary changes promptly.

  • Vendor Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers. Support the procurement team in negotiating contracts and terms that benefit the organisation financially and operationally (this requires total alignment with the broader department teams). Regularly assess vendor performance to ensure compliance with contractual obligations and company standards. Develop warranty claims (supported by the reliability and procurement teams) for the supplied components.

  • Inventory Optimisation: Utilise advanced inventory management systems to track and manage stock levels efficiently. Implement continuous improvement strategies to minimise costs and optimise stock levels based on historical data and predictive analytics.

  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead and develop the warehouse and logistics team. Set clear objectives, manage performance, and provide training and development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and promote a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

  • Reporting and Accountability: Regularly generate and present detailed reports on stock status, performance metrics, and improvement opportunities to the broader team and management. Ensure that the stock management system provides accurate and real-time data to support decision-making processes.

Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of success in stock or inventory management, preferably within the energy sector or a comparable industry (incl. aviation, military, etc..).
  • Comprehensive knowledge of supply chain and inventory management systems, along with a deep understanding of the regulatory landscape in Europe and the UK.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a high-performing team.
  • Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related fields. A master’s degree or professional certification in supply chain management is highly desirable.

Skills:

  • Proficient in inventory management software and systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with various stakeholders.
  • Highly analytical with meticulous attention to detail.

Travel Requirements:

  • Travel may be required in the EU and UK.

This role is ideal for a highly strategic and proactive leader who can maintain critical inventory levels necessary for continuous operations and is adept at working in a dynamic and regulatory-heavy industry.
