Erica Myers

Erica is a native of Owings Mills, Maryland. She obtained her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Spelman College and completed her master’s degree in Education with a focus in Community and Social Change from the University of Miami. She has always been passionate about serving youth and analyzing the systems that greatly impact them.

Upon graduation, she worked in community-based organizations in Miami that served youth and young adults who were aging out of foster care. Her work in Miami served as her inspiration to create Fosterpreneur. She views entrepreneurship as an amazing vehicle to help foster care youth and alumni.

Prior to joining VFA, she worked at DonorsChoose and Urban Alliance Baltimore and Greater DC. In these roles, she developed facilitation and partnership management skills and built relationships with youth, schools, community organizations, and corporations.

Outside of VFA, you can find her working on Fosterpreneur, exercising on the Peloton app, taking an occasional dance class, and catching up on random Netflix series.
