Ashraf Chowdhury

Ashraf Chowdhury has a diverse work experience in the field of engineering, particularly in electrical and instrumentation roles, spanning over 17 years.

Ashraf'smost recent role is as Principal Electrical Engineer at Venture Global LNG since June 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Total from June 2019 to May 2021, where they served as the Lead Electrical Engineer on the Mozambique LNG Project, overseeing major electrical aspects of the project.

From 2013 to 2019, Ashraf worked at Bechtel Oil, Gas, & Chemicals in various roles. Ashraf started as a Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineer on the ConocoPhilips Australia Pacific LNG Project - Module Yard. Ashraf then served as a Lead Electrical Startup Engineer on the Cheniere Sabine Pass Liquefaction Project, responsible for multiple substations. Lastly, they worked as a Senior Startup Engineer on the Cheniere Sabine Pass Liquefaction Train 5.

Ashraf's earlier experiences include working at Bechtel Power as a Lead Instrument Field Engineer on the Calpine RCEC Combined Cycle Gas Power Plant from 2011 to 2013. Prior to that, they worked at Bechtel Oil, Gas, & Chemicals as an Instrumentation Field Engineer on the ConocoPhillips CORE Coker Project and as a Lead Commissioning Engineer on the Transcanada Keystone Pipeline Project. Ashraf also served as an Electrical Engineer, developing project one-lines and schematics.

Before joining Bechtel, Ashraf had internships at National Grid in 2005 and 2004, where they gained hands-on experience in electrical engineering.

Overall, Ashraf Chowdhury has a strong background in electrical engineering, which includes involvement in large-scale projects, commissioning, startup operations, and power system analysis.

Ashraf Chowdhury holds a Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The University of Manchester, which they obtained between 2002 and 2006. In addition, they have certifications as a Bechtel Certified Senior Startup Specialist from Bechtel Oil, Gas, & Chemicals in October 2017 and as a Bechtel Certified Lead Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineer from the same institution in November 2012.
