Matt Dunbar

Co-founder & Managing Director at VentureSouth

Matt Dunbar has a diverse work experience, with a focus on angel investing and board membership. Matt co-founded VentureSouth and served as the Managing Director, overseeing the provision of early-stage capital to high-growth ventures in the Southeast. Matt was also a General Partner in VentureSouth Funds. Prior to that, they were the Managing Director of the Upstate Carolina Angel Network, a group of investors supporting early-stage ventures in the Southeastern United States. Dunbar has also served on the boards of Zylo Therapeutics, Entegra Bank, the Angel Capital Association, and CIRTEMO. Matt has held various roles, including Visiting Lecturer at Clemson University, Enviropreneur Institute Faculty at PERC, and Project Leader at The Boston Consulting Group. Matt began their career as an Applications Development Engineer at Eastman Chemical Company.

Matt Dunbar attended Clemson University from 1994 to 1999, where they obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Chemical Engineering. Later, from 2003 to 2005, they attended Stanford University Graduate School of Business, earning a dual degree of MBA and Masters of Education.
