Emily Samec has an extensive work experience in the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industry. Emily is currently serving as the Vice President of Program Management at Ventyx Biosciences since November 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Vice President of Operations and Project Management at Oncternal Therapeutics from October 2021 to November 2022.

Before joining Oncternal Therapeutics, Emily worked as the Vice President of Operations at Organovo Holdings, Inc. from December 2020 to October 2021. Emily also held the role of Vice President of Operations at La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company from June 2020 to October 2020. Earlier, Emily served in various roles including Vice President/Sr. Director/Director of Operations and Project Management at La Jolla Pharmaceutical Company from June 2016 to June 2020.

Emily started their career in the biotechnology industry at Santarus, Inc. where they held various roles within Regulatory/Clinical/Medical Affairs from 2001 to 2006. Prior to that, they worked as the Senior Manager of Regulatory Operations and Document Management at Sirion Therapeutics in 2006.

Emily Samec has a Bachelor of Arts degree from San Diego State University. Emily obtained a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in November 2022. Furthermore, they acquired a Regulatory Affairs Certification (RAC) from the Regulatory Affairs Professionals Society (RAPS) in December 2015.
